COVID – PRECAUTIONS


These are not normal times and this will not be a “normal” tournament. We must accept there will be changes and procedures that must be followed in order to comply with State and local requirements in addition to creating the safest environment possible while still competing in a Karate Tournament.
This is not the place to make your personal expression or protest related to COVID. If you can not or do not want to follow the procedures and requirements listed below, then please DO NOT participate in this event.
o Competition will be held over two days to limit attendance.
o 11 and under athletes will compete on Saturday
o 12 and older athletes will compete on Sunday
o Face coverings will be worn by ALL attendees
o Athletes will be allowed to not have a face covering only while on the tatami actively competing
o Coaches will wear a face covering at all times unless seated in the coaching box actively coaching.
o Officials will wear a face covering at all times.
o Volunteers will wear a face covering at all times.
o ALL spectators will wear a face covering at all times.
o Kumite equipment will be wiped with disinfectant before each bout.
o Hand sanitizer will be provided at each score table and throughout the venue.
o Temperature checks will be conducted on athletes and coaches at check-in. Any elevated temperature will prevent entry into the event.
o Temperature checks will be conducted on all Officials, Volunteers and Spectators each time they enter the competition venue. Any elevated temperature will prevent entry into the venue.
o Athletes are restricted to TWO spectators per athlete to reduce attendance.
o Competition will be webcast on a schedule to allow spectators to watch their athletes remotely.
o Divisions will be spaced throughout the day to allow limited attendance. Participants should only be in the venue while their athlete is competing.
